Boys Under 10, Under 12, Under 14

New York State modified rules apply

Eligibility

Under 10 - born in 1997 or after
Under 12 - born in 1995 or after
Under 14 - born in 1993 or after


Check In All team representatives must check their team in at the tournament. They must "Check in" at table thirty minutes before their first game. All eligible players must be listed on each team's official roster.
Equipment All players must have the following: Lacrosse helmet, mouth guard, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, and a stick.
Participation Younger players may play at their coach's discretion:
• Boys: Full field - 10 players- 3 attack, 3 midfielders, 3 defense, 1 goalie.
• Maximum 3 long sticks on field at one time (U-10, U-12)
• Both John Pepper Tournaments promote fair and competitive competition. The participation of "Elite" or "All-Star" teams is discouraged.
Contact No deliberate body contact may be initiated either offensively or defensively. (Rule: play the ball) Incidental body contact is to be expected (i.e. ground balls).
Stick Checking Two-handed stick checks only (U-10, U-12)
Penalties All penalties will result in a one-minute technical foul, one-minute personal foul. Penalties start when play resumes. Timekeeper on sidelines will release the player from the penalty box.
Time Teams will play two twenty minute running-time halves. Clock will not stop during the game. A common horn will sound to start and stop all games.
Tie Games There is no overtime. Any game ending in a tie at the end of regulation remains a tie, except in the play off games. Play off game ties will be broken by a (5) minute "sudden victory" overtime period. First goal in sudden death wins the game.
Goal Rule Each team has thirty (30) seconds to line up for a face off after a goal, or referee has the ability to
award possession to the other team.
Point System The tournament will use the following point system:
Two (2) points for a win
One (1) point for a tie
Zero (0) points for a loss
Tiebreaker for play off will be as follows: 1) Head to Head
2) Overall record
3) Fewest goals allowed
4) coin flip
Games Each team will be guaranteed (3) games. Games will be forty minutes long, comprised of (2) twenty-minute halves running time. There will be a five-minute intermission between halves. The clock will will not stop anytime during the game.
Referees The referee has complete authority in all games. Most referees in attendance VOLUNTEER their time. Remember that there would not be any games with out them present.
Behavior The John Pepper Tournament enforces a zero tolerance rule in relation to behavior deemed detrimental to the safety or enjoyment of the games by others. Any player or spectator instigating verbal insults or abuse or involved in a fight, will be expelled from the tournament.
Awards Championship shirts be given to the winning teams at the conclusion of the tournament
